Environmental Remediation - Michigan's Part 201 of Act 451
Horizon understands the needs and complexities that can be associated with management and remediation of a site of environmental contamination under Part 201 of Michigan’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (“NREPA”). We further understand that Part 201 allows for the use of limited closures, institutional controls and engineering controls to accomplish closure of sites of environmental contamination. As such, engineered solutions, while sometimes necessary to accomplish site closure, are not always necessary and, in fact, are commonly treated as a method of last resort for site management under Part 201.
Where engineered solutions are necessary to accomplish site closure, Horizon’s engineers work towards solutions that carefully balance capital costs with operational and maintenance costs. Where possible, we strive to implement solutions that involve minimum practical timeframes for site remediation, thereby lowering overall environmental expenditures. Our engineers have developed advances in site investigation techniques, site remediation technologies and use of environmental service products that separate us from our competitors. Our experienced and knowledgeable team is setting a new standard for the environmental consulting marketplace.
