Development of Design Plans & Specifications
Horizon’s engineering staff has extensive experience in development of both preliminary and detailed engineering plans, technical specifications and contractual (i.e., “front end”) documents for implementation of remedial actions and other environmental construction projects. Engineering plans and specifications can be prepared in a accordance with specific client drafting and engineering standards, or in accordance with Horizon’s standard practices. Horizon’s specifications are typically created in accordance with Construction Specification Institute format.
Horizon has extensive experience in development of engineering plans, technical specifications and contract documents for use in “turn-key” construction, where Horizon holds construction contracts with the implementing contractors, thereby providing our clients with sole-source responsibility for the design and construction services. Horizon has also developed plans and specifications using our clients’ contractual documents, thereby allowing our clients to hold contracts with implementing contractors, when that is our client’s preference.
