Horizon Environmental is seeking an environmental engineer to fill a full-time salaried position in our Grand Rapids office. The successful candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. in chemical, environmental or civil engineering with environmental emphasis. Five or more years of environmental engineering experience required. Experience in a professional consulting environment, including direct experience with implementation of remedial actions at sites of environmental contamination, strongly preferred. Professional engineering licensure in the State of Michigan or willingness and ability to obtain such licensure within one year of initiation of employment also preferred. Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER training is a plus. |
| Horizon Environmental is seeking an environmental geologist / hydrogeologist to fill a full-time salaried position in our Grand Rapids office. The successful candidate will have a M.S. degree in Hydrogeology or Geology with five to ten years of experience in site investigations and groundwater remediation. Experience in hydrogeologic investigations, monitoring well installation, environmental sampling, aquifer testing and analysis, and report preparation is required. Expertise in hydrogeologic modeling will be a consideration in the selection process. Familiarity with federal and Michigan regulations pertaining to site remediation is a plus. Position requires flexible working style, self-initiative and motivation, and a willingness to lead and work with teams of multi-disciplined specialists to meet project and client needs and schedules. Strong oral and written communication skills are also required. Current 40 Hour OSHA Health and Safety training is a plus.
